(1899-1987) Астер, Фред
Настоящее имя Фред Аустерлиц. Танцовщик и актер. Как пишут его биографы, "начал танцевать сразу же как научился ходить". До 1932 выступал в паре с сестрой Аделью, в 1933-39 - с Джинджер Роджерс [Rogers, Ginger]. Астер и Роджерс снялись во многих кинофильмах: "Веселый развод" ["The Gay Divorcee"] (1934), "Потанцуем?" ["Shall We Dance"] (1937), "Беспечно" ["Carefree"] (1938) и другие. С 1939 Астер выступал с разными партнершами во многих фильмах ("Дамочка в несчастье" ["Damsel in Distress"] (1939), "Предел только небо" ["The Sky's the Limit"] (1943), "Пасхальный парад" ["Easter Parade"] (1948), "Баркли с Бродвея" ["The Barkleys of Broadway"] (1949) - вновь с Дж. Роджерс, "Давай потанцуем" ["Let's Dance"] (1950), "Забавная мордашка" ["Funny Face"] (1956) и др.). В 1949 получил "Оскара" [Oscar] "за особый вклад в киноискусство". В 1958 провел серию телепередач "Вечер с Фредом Астером" ["Evening with Fred Astaire"]. В 1974 получил премию "Оскар" за исполнение роли в фильме "Ад в поднебесье" ["Towering Inferno"]
